Regular Adult Programming
(Please refer to the calendar for specific times and dates.)
If you are interested in quality reading and participating in lively discussions, the adult reading group is for you. The Happy Bookers, the Thomas Township Library book discussion group gathers on the second Thursday of the month from 3:00-4:00 p.m., in the Library Meeting room. Copies of the monthly selection are borrowed from other libraries so there is not charge. A Thomas Township Library card is the only necessity. Contact Janet at 989-781-3770 OR just stop in at 8207 Shields Drive approximately one month before the next discussion to pick up a book!
Versiti Blood Center of Michigan holds bimonthly blood drives in the meeting room at the Thomas Township Library from 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. They have provided blood products and services to local area patients since 1955. Volunteer to donate by making an appointment here, the Shields Community Blood Drive listing. Walk-ins are always welcomed.
Let your creativity shine. The coloring club meets on the third Monday of the month from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Supplies are furnished for in-house use (colored pencils, markers, gel pens) or you may bring your own, if you prefer. A selection of coloring pages are available for your choosing. Register to attend by calling 989 781-3770.
The summer reading program is inclusive of all ages, even adults. The program begins in June and continues into August. Participation of adults provides an outstanding modeling example for children as they strive to become better readers. Whether you read ebooks, listen to audio books, or enjoy the comfort of a physical book, reading can challenge the mind, stretch the imagination, inspire and motivate. During the program read/listen to five titles, complete a short review of each and earn a wonderful reward.
