Library Millage Renewal

Many thanks to the Thomas Township community for voting YES for our library! Renewing the library millage means stable funding for future years. We truly appreciate your interest, your support and especially, your passion for our library and the services we offer. We are doing our best to provide a great library experience for all.
Used Book Sale 2023
Come join us for our Used Book Sale, which will take place in the meeting room. The sale will begin on Saturday, Sept. 9th from 10 am to 4 pm and continue on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 11th and 12th from 10 am to 7 pm. On Tuesday stuff a bag for $2.00. Sept. 13th through the 16th are help yourself days, donation optional. Hours for help yourself days are Wednesday and Thursday 10 am to 7 pm, , Friday 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday 10 am to 3 pm.
Hardcover books will be priced at .50, paperbacks .25 – $.50, children’s books .25, multimedia items $1.00 and puzzles .50.
A thank you goes out to all the supportive people that have donated gently used materials to the library for this annual event. In addition, a portion of the items for sale have been deselected from the library’s various collections to make room for new materials.
The dedicated volunteers that assist on sale days are essential, and keep the offerings organized and the daily activities running smoothly. Interested in helping out? Call the library at 989 781-3770 to sign up.
Summer Reading 2023
Registration for the 2023 Collaborative Library Summer Reading Program “All Together Now” starts on Monday, June 12th and continues through Friday, July 14th. The program is designed for listeners and readers, from tots to adults. Incentives are awarded upon completion of the listening/reading requirements.
Many activities and programs are planned. Science Alive, an annual favorite, will visit the library on June 27th at 11:00 and 1:00. Children can enjoy interactive rhythmic fun with Lori Fithian’s Drummunity Program, and Stevens Puppets will bring literature to life with marionettes. Enjoy the comedy and circus related antics of Comedy Circus while learning about gravity, balance and motion. The A2 Magic Show will be filled with amazing magic tricks and hilarious visual humor. Many more programs are on tap and a brochure with all the details, dates and times will be given out at the time of registration. The events will also be posted on the website calendar. Advance sign up will be required to attend some of the programs. Participant’s listening/reading charts must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, August 11th when the program ends.
Let’s not forget about those eighteen years old and over. Sign up to read or listen to five titles of your choice, write a short review of each one and receive a tote bag.

The May 18th, 2023 Thomas Township Library Board Meeting will take place at the Thomas Township Library, 8207 Shields Drive, Saginaw, MI 48609. The meeting will commence at 4:00 p.m. Thomas Twp. Library will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services to any individuals with disabilities who plan to attend this public meeting.
