Used Book Sale

Come join us for our Used Book Sale to be held in the meeting room.  The sale will begin on Saturday, Sept. 10th from 10 am to 4 pm and continue on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 12th and 13th from 10 am to 7 pm.  On Tuesday stuff a bag for $2.00.  Sept. 14th through the 17th are help yourself days, donation optional.  Hours for help yourself days are Wednesday 10 am to 7 pm, Thursday 10 am to 2:30 pm, Friday 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday 10 am to 3 pm.

Hardcover books will be priced at .50, paperbacks .25 – $.50, children’s books .25, multimedia items $1.00 and puzzles .50.

A thank you goes out to all the supportive people that have donated gently used materials to the library for  this fundraiser.  In addition, a portion of the items for sale have been deselected from the library’s various collections to make room for new materials.

The dedicated volunteers that assist on sale days are essential, and keep the offerings organized and the daily activities running smoothly.  Interested in helping out?  Call the library at 989 781-3770 to sign up.

Library Millage Renewal

Many thanks to the Thomas Township community for voting YES for our library! Renewing the library millage means stable funding for future years. We truly appreciate your interest, your support and especially, your passion for our library and the services we offer. We are doing our best to provide a great library experience for all.

Summer Reading 2022 is here!

Registration for “Oceans of Possibilities” starts on Monday, June 13th and continues through Friday, July 15th. The program is designed for listeners and readers, from tots to adults. Incentives are awarded upon completion of the listening/reading requirements. Many fun youth events and activities are scheduled for participants. A schedule of the weekly events and additional program instructions will be given to each family when registering. The events are also posted on the website calendar. Advance signup is required to attend all weekly events except the Sidewalk Chalk Activity. Participant’s listening/reading charts must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, August 12th when the program ends.

From June 15th through July 31st teens can also participate in the online MILibrary Quest “Treasures of the Deep” challenge. Click on the MILibrary Quest link or the “Kids and Teen” page for more information.

Phase 1: The Return of Materials
Patrons with items checked from Feb. 1 were sent notices.
Temporary outside book return now
available limited hours.

Phase 2: Curbside Service
Starting Mon., June 29th.
Order materials by phone or online.
An appointment will be made for pick up.  The outside book return is now open 24/7.

Phase 3: Limited Opening at 25% Occupancy
Must wear a mask to enter building.
Social distancing required.
No in-person programs. Limited computer use.
Furniture rearranged or removed.
No toys available.

Phase 4: Limited Opening at 50% Occupancy
All Phase 3 guidelines apply.

Phase 5: Business As Usual
All public computers will be available.
Programs will resume.
MelCat interloan service will resume.
The meeting room will be available.
Furniture will be brought back.

Library Board Meeting

The January 19th, 2023 Thomas Township Library Board Meeting will take place at the Thomas Township Library, 8207 Shields Drive, Saginaw, MI 48609.  The meeting will commence at 4:00 p.m.     Thomas Twp. Library will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services to any individuals with disabilities who plan to attend this public meeting. Persons interested in such services need to contact the Thomas Twp. Library, 8207 Shields Dr.. Saginaw, MI 48609 or phone 989 781-3770 at least five (5) working days prior to the meeting. In the case that advanced notice for accommodations is not possible, every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate the disabled

COVID-19 UPDATE

06-22-2021  The Library is now open.  Masks and social distancing is required of unvaccinated patrons.  Parents are to determine if their unvaccinated minors require a mask.  Seating and computers are limited due to social distancing.  All returns are to be placed in the outside book return;  all library materials continue to be quarantined.  Donations of used books, etc. are not being accepted.

03-22-2021 The Library is now open with limited occupancy Our hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 10 AM – 7 PM, Wednesday 10 AM – 6 pm and Friday & Saturday 10 AM – 4 PM.  Please wear your mask and observe social distancing.  Before entering the building put all returns in the outside drop box.  Returned materials are quarantined for 96 hours before being checked in.  Curbside service will continue to be offered.  If wanting to use a computer, please call ahead (989 781-3770) about 15 minutes before arriving to check for availability.  Used book donations are not being accepted until further notice.  Welcome back!

11-23-2020  We will be moving back to curbside service  only, on November 23rd until further notice.  This difficult decision was made due to the rising number of COVID19 cases.  Your curbside requests can be made by calling the Library at 989 781-3770 or by accessing our online catalog at www.thomastownshiplibrary.org.  Staff is available to assist you by phone Mon. – Thurs. 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fri. – Sat, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Sunday hours have been temporarily suspended.

3-18-2020  Dear Library Patrons,
IN RESPONSE TO GOV. WHITMER’S EXECUTIVE ORDER DATED MARCH 16, and under the guidance of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services health officials are recommending that human interaction be limited whenever possible. As a result THE THOMAS TOWNSHIP LIBRARY IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
